Nathaniel P. Ford, Sr.
SFMTA Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer
Residents and visitors of this world-class city deserve a world-class transit system. We are undertaking the TEP with the aim of adjusting service to reflect the current and future needs of San Francisco’s transit riders. The TEP is a long-term commitment to implement changes that will improve the overall performance and financial stability of the SFMTA. The public, community stakeholders, policy makers, union leaders and SFMTA employees are all critical to successful implementation. By acting on the insights and recommendations of the TEP, I believe we can raise Muni to a higher level of performance and make transit more reliable.
Rev. Dr. James McCray, Jr.
Chairman,
SFMTA Board
The SFMTA and your elected officials are currently engaged in an 18-month process aimed at improving the quality of transportation for San Francisco’s residents. We are taking a fresh and innovative look at how people travel - to get from home to work, school or recreation. As a result of this analysis, we will provide a more efficient service to get all Muni riding citizens to the important destinations around the city. Please take the time to give your input into this process as we remake our already good transportation system into one that meets the needs of riders throughout the City. The aim is to build a better transit system for the 21st Century.
Ed Harrington
City Controller
The Controller’s Office is pleased to be partnering with the SFMTA in the first comprehensive review of the Muni system in over 25 years. The TEP is generating an unprecedented level of performance and financial data to understand Muni’s service and operations challenges and help us determine what can be done in both the short- and long-term to enhance service and allocate resources where they are most needed. Through more precise service planning and budgeting tools, the TEP will leave a critical legacy to help the City make more informed decisions about how best to improve our transit system.
