the TEP process

 

The TEP is an 18-month study that includes a number of steps to evaluate the current transit system. While the focus of the plan is on long-term improvements to the transit system, recommendations will also be made for short-term actions.

Who is involved in the TEP?

The TEP is a partnership between SFMTA, the agency that oversees Muni, and the Controller’s Office, which helps City departments evaluate the effectiveness of their services. SFMTA and the Controller’s Office have contracted with one of the nation’s top transit consulting firms, Transportation Management & Design, Inc. (TMD), to provide transit planning expertise. Together these agencies and TMD will serve as the project team.
