WHAT'S NEW

June 2008

Spring 2008 Community Meetings

From April 19th – May 17th, the TEP held 11 community meetings across the city to collect public input on draft proposals to transform Muni. At each meeting, the TEP presented strategies to improve on-time performance and reliability systemwide and discussed proposed changes to routes. Over 1,200 people attended and nearly 1,200 individuals have submitted comments through the web and through the City’s 311 Customer Service Center. The formal public comment period is open through June 15th.

Over the next few weeks, the TEP will be using the public input from our community meetings, comments that we have received through the web, by mail, and by phone, and suggestions from civic groups and our employees to refine the preliminary proposals. Revised recommendations will be presented to the SFMTA Board for its review late this summer.

Watch the video of the last TEP community meeting. Community meeting materials are posted in Available Documents.

TEP Proposals Available

The TEP’s preliminary service and route proposals are now available for public review. The proposals aim to transform Muni so people can get where they want to go quickly, reliably, and safely. The draft proposals and related materials are posted under Available Documents.

Muni Ridership Data Now Online

The TEP is pleased to announce that ridership data for each weekday service bus and rail line is now available online at www.sfmta.com/tepdata. From October 2006 to June 2007, the SFMTA captured a tremendous amount of information on its bus and rail lines, including exactly where customers are boarding vehicles and how many people are riding the system throughout the day.

Track the Process

TEP Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) meetings are open to the public and are held on the second Thursday of the month from 5 to 7 pm at One South Van Ness, Room 3074. Visit Meetings for more information.

Interested neighborhood or community groups can request a TEP project briefing at any time, and our team can provide content for organization newsletters, list servs or other publications by request. Please contact info@sftep.com to request a briefing or newsletter article.
